G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance 2023

Foreword:
The Revised OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Principles of Corporate Governance (Principles) were released in September 2023.
The Principles have been updated to reflect recent developments in capital markets and corporate governance policies and practices. It offers new and updated recommendations on shareholder rights, the role of institutional investors, corporate disclosure and reporting, the responsibilities of boards. The principles also bolster the long-term viability and resilience of corporations, thereby playing a role in enhancing the overall sustainability and resilience of the economy.
For the first time, the Principles focuses on sustainability and resilience to help companies manage climate-related and other sustainability risks and opportunities. The Principles also have recommendations on new dimensions such as the use of digital tools for shareholder meetings, and regulatory frameworks for company groups.
The Revised OECD Principles of Corporate Governance aim to strengthen policy and regulatory frameworks for corporate governance that support sustainability which in turn can contribute to the resilience of the broader economy
